Archeoastronomia sperimentale

Abstract

Sommario: Presento alcuni strumenti e le relative attività, utili per capire elementi di base più volte utilizzati nelle ricerche e nelle descrizioni di manufatti archeoastronomici, oggetto delle due lezioni tenute in occasione della Scuola di Archeoastronomia V.F. Polcaro, che ritengo meritino esplicitazione anche nella nostra composita comunità. Sottolineo l’intento di offrire un contributo per la “scuola di Archeoastronomia” quindi mostro attenzione anche a particolari elementari. Le lezioni sono tenute all’aperto, perché solo lavorando con il Sole per la prima (Cerchi Indù) e con lo spazio grande del cielo per la seconda (misura degli angoli) si colgono le difficoltà e le attenzioni necessarie ad un uso corretto dei manufatti stessi.

Abstract: I present some tools and related activities that are useful for understanding the fundamental elements repeatedly used in the research and description of archaeoastronomical finds—the subject of the two lectures held at the V.F. Polcaro School of Archaeoastronomy—which I believe deserve to be clarified within our diverse community as well. By the term “school,” I therefore intend to pay attention even to the most basic details. The lectures take place outdoors,
since only by working with the Sun in the first case (Hindu circles) and with the immensity of the sky in the second (angle measurement) can one grasp the difficulties and the care required for the proper use of the artifacts themselves.
